The Arts Council of Dickinson County was founded in 1981 as a volunteer organization to promote musical, literary, and visual arts in Dickinson County. Steady growth of the membership, budget, and programming reflects solid community support and involvement. The Arts Council sponsors a nice variety of concerts, exhibits, classes, and performances for people of all ages in Dickinson County. The Arts Council of Dickinson County acts as a coordinating, educational, and service organization to foster, promote, encourage and increase knowledge, appreciation, and the practice of arts for residents in Dickinson County, Kansas. The Arts Council works to promote the arts and support the artists of Dickinson County. Communities that the Arts Council serves are Abilene, Carlton, Chapman, Dillon, Elmo, Enterprise, Herington, Hope, Manchester, Navarre, Solomon, Talmadge, Woodbine and surrounding rural areas. |

Funding for the Arts Council is provided by membership, grants and earned income. Membership in the Arts Council of Dickinson County is available to anyone who wants to support the arts. The Arts Council also welcomes contributions from businesses, corporations, estates, and interested citizens. The Arts Council is a non-profit organization. Membership fees and all other donations are tax deductible.
